Tom Carlson

Camp Commission President

I was baptized and confirmed in Montana, but accepted Jesus as my Savior at Camp.
While attending college, I worked at Camp several years.

I met my wife Kris in the MSU College of Nursing, and we married in 87. After a few years and many adventures we moved home to Montana with a two week old baby. Another beautiful girl came three years later. Both girls, Jasmine and Camas were baptized at Christ Church Kalispell, and have participated and worked at Camp Marshall.

Kris and I are retired now and live on our homestead in the Flathead. Our latest joy is our first grandchild who with his mother live with us.

John Bertram

Camp Commission Vice President

For the last 14 years he and his family have enjoyed spending time at camp every summer at Family and Junior Middler camps, and parish, vestry and quilting retreats. He was very excited to get certified as a camp sailing instructor last summer. John works as an architectural designer for cooperate events around the world and locally as a architectural designer and draftsmen.

Beth Demmons

Lay Member

Three years ago, Beth was asked to help with Grace Camp and she has been hooked ever since. Beth and her family have enjoyed spending time at Camp Marshall during youth and family camp.

Beth is a licensed clinical social worker and provides counseling services to Carroll College students. She comes to the counseling world with over 24 years of military service as a retired Air Force officer.  She and her husband hail from Montana but they didn’t meet until they both were stationed in South Korea in 1994. They married, travelled the world and are blessed with five children. They are happy to be living in Montana again near family and friends.

Beth and her family are members of St Stephen’s in Helena where she is active in the Sunday School Program.

Noelle Kent

Lay Member

I was able to attend Camp Marshall from the time I was 10 years old. Camp gave me opportunities in various youth activities. As a high schooler, I attended youth conventions and Happenings around the state. My senior year of high school I was able to be on the Youth Board, which was a group of high schoolers from
around the state that would gather several times a year to organize the various events for the state youth program. After I graduated high school, I was able to be a waterfront director at Camp Marshall. Several years later I was able to volunteer to be a counselor at Camp Marshall.

Today, I am a wife and a mother to four who have all attended Camp Marshall. My husband and
I organize a church fundraiser every year at St. Luke's to
raise funds for Grace Camp.

My heart and my faith was secured in the love and compassion of my experiences at Camp
Marshall. I have lifelong friends from camp. We have our faith in God's love and understanding
and we came by that through love, friendship and prayer together at Camp Marshall. I have a
passion for and belief in what Camp Marshall brings to the youth of Montana.

Carol Sisk

Lay Member

Carol grew up in Montana - skiing, riding horses, and loving the week every summer at Camp Marshall. While working toward a BS in nursing, she spent several summers as the camp nurse.......licensing requirements were a bit looser back then! The alumni weekend has provided a yearly get together with her lifelong camp friends from those college years.

Employment for 30 years consisted of hospital work as an RN, and for the last 10 years as a Nurse Practitioner in an Internal Medicine clinic. She was able to be an “official” camp nurse for 4 of the more recent Grace Camps, and this is a role that has been as much a blessing for her, as it has hopefully been for the campers.

Married for 44 years to Bob, they still live at the foot of the Bridger mountains with their young dog, Sandy. And they continue to feel blessed by, and find fulfillment in their children - a daughter and her husband, and son and his wife and children.
